Free AdviceAdvicehub
In July 2009, the Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB) of Cambridgeshire (Cambridge, Ely, Fenland and Huntingdonshire) launched the Big Lottery funded Advicehub initiative – an innovative framework to smarter working and knowledge transfer aiming to tackle social exclusion and to increase people’s access to good quality advice.
“Advicehub presents a unique opportunity for advice agencies to work with a diverse range of partners, including GP surgeries, libraries, community centres and hospitals, to deliver advice with the help of innovative IT, to people all over Cambridgeshire.”. Kulbir Singh, Advicehub Partnership Development Manager
This prestigious project will achieve synergies between not-for-profit, statutory and commercial agencies to create:
- ease of access, improved quality and better signposting to key support services,
- economies of scale through partnership working
- the provision of countywide training for professionals working in the advice sector
- the promotion of community cohesion and ways to address social exclusion, particularly in the deprived rural Fenland area of the county
- a maximization of the potential of local advice services to meet the rapidly increasing needs of the projected enlarged population of Cambridgeshire between now and 2030.
